Every device

One machine, reached from anywhere.

Web, desktop, mobile, and the terminal are all clients of the same machine. Start a session on your laptop, answer an approval from your phone, tail the work over SSH — it is one computer with several doors.

The terminal door

The SSH gateway drops you into a terminal client with a machine picker. Connect to the gateway on its own hostname with the key you already have — a key Hoshi has not seen before is linked on that first connection, from an approval link it prints for you:

terminal
ssh -p 2222 my.hoshi.computer

Putting a machine name in the username skips the picker and lands straight in that machine. Write both forms into your SSH config once, and the hostname and the port never come up again:

~/.ssh/config
Host hoshi
  HostName my.hoshi.computer
  Port 2222

Host my-machine
  HostName my.hoshi.computer
  Port 2222
  User my-machine

From then on it is ssh hoshi for the picker, or ssh my-machine for that one machine. Every machine has a Connect over SSH panel that shows the same block with its own name already filled in.

Desktop and mobile apps are in beta; the API speaks the same wire every client uses — sessions, live events, schedules, approvals.
